Quick Start Guide

Get from zero to your first refined user story in about 10 minutes.

1. Install sielTrace

1. Go to Atlassian Marketplace
2. Search for "sielTrace"
3. Click "Get it now" and select your Jira site
4. Review permissions and click "Grant access"
5. Wait for installation confirmation

2. Open your first issue

1. Navigate to any Jira issue (or create one with a vague summary, e.g. "Add user notifications")
2. Look for the "Refinar HU" panel on the right sidebar
3. Click to open the refinement panel

3. Run your first refinement

Without business rules (quickest start)

1. Click "Refinar esta historia"
2. Wait a few seconds while the AI processes the story
3. Review the generated item: acceptance criteria, technical context, business value and effort estimate

With business rules (recommended)

1. Open "sielTrace — Cerebro de negocio" from Jira's top navigation
2. Go to the "Reglas" tab and click "Crear módulo" (e.g. "Authentication")
3. Click "Agregar regla" and write a simple rule, for example:
   All passwords must be at least 12 characters, include uppercase, lowercase, number and special character.
4. Save, return to your issue, and run the refinement again — it will now reflect your rule

4. Review and create

1. Review the acceptance criteria, technical context and any detected conflicts
2. Use the checkboxes to select which generated items you want to create
3. Choose the destination project and click "Crear issues confirmados"
4. Confirm the new issues appear in your project with the refined description and acceptance criteria

5. Connect your repositories (optional)

Connecting a repository lets sielTrace add technical context and detect conflicts with your codebase.

1. Open "sielTrace — Configuración" (admin only)
2. Go to "Conexiones de repositorios" and click "Conectar GitHub" (GitLab, Bitbucket and CodeCommit are also supported)
3. Generate an access token with read access to your repositories and paste it in
4. Enter your organization/username and click "Reconstruir catálogo"

Tips for better refinements

• Write original stories with enough intent, e.g. "As a user, I want clearer error messages when login fails, so I understand what went wrong"
• Build your Business Brain gradually — start with 5-10 core rules for your most critical modules
• Organize modules by team ("Tribus") to keep rules relevant during refinement
• Take conflict warnings seriously: business conflicts may signal contradictory requirements, code conflicts may signal existing functionality or breaking changes

Common first-time issues

• No refinement quota remaining: wait for the monthly reset, upgrade your plan, or contact support
• AI returned an error: usually temporary, wait a minute and retry
• Refinement looks too generic: add more business rules and connect a repository for extra context
• Can't connect a repository: check that your token has read access and that the org/group name is correct
